Greetings everyone, welcome to all of you, it's great to speak with you again.

How many of you are "occassional" fitness freaks?

I don't mean "real" fitness buffs. I mean those of you, like me, who decide - after 3-months of abusing our bodies with too much food, too much caffeine and too little sleep - this is it! I'm going to go out and run a marathon.

This time, it's my wife's fault!

No really...

She had to go and join an organized running group and I couldn't have her running circles around me could I?

Well - let's just spare you the gory details, suffice it to say, I have reverted back to the lung capacity of a 90-year old!

What's great about it though is that, after a few weeks of excruciating pain, I'm finally realizing the positives of more adrenaline, more energy and more focus - so watch out now!!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I found one of my more recent articles (you can see them here: in front of over 1 Million subscribers thanks to many great ezine publishers who picked it up.

I would have had to pay thousands of dollars for this kind of publicity - when all it took was 30-minutes to write the article.

Today's feature article will tell you what I did to get it right.

This issue I wanted to pull one of the more common questions that gets asked on discussion forums out and provide a quick response based on direct experience.

Here's the question...

What are the most effective marketing techniques to get traffic to my new site?

Well - here's the top 5, taken right from my own weblogs!

1. Joint ventures are the quickest, most effective method of quick traffic and generating orders from your website

2. Writing articles - as long as they are on hot topics, based on experience and give people something they want badly - these can bring you in thousands of highly targeted visitors and sales.

3. Search engines. This one will take more time. Continue to develop solid content such as articles, newsletters, and relevant links and you will rise to the first or second page of search engines where you will begin to see some serious traffic.

4. PPC - or Pay-Per-Click such as Google Adwords or Bid on a large number of highly focused and relevant keywords and you will make money using this approach. Don't go too broad though - or you will lose your shirt.

5. Ezine ads. Not as effective as they once were, but still a good way to bring in allot of targeted traffic in a short period of time. This can also be a good way of getting additional newsletter signups and super affiliates - if you target the right ezines.

How You Can Make Writing Free Articles Pay Off!

Everywhere you look, you're being told to write articles to get free publicity for your online business.

Does it really work?

What do you write about?

How do you submit your articles? More important, how do you get them published?

Using articles as a marketing method does work. You can convert more sales, generate significant traffic, increase your search engine ranking and "brand" yourself an expert just by writing one or two articles every month.

I recently wrote an article called " How To Make Pay Per Click Advertising Payoff"

So far, this article has been included in over 25 publications, exposed to over 1 Million subscribers, and has been responsible for significant sales - all for just 30-minutes of work.

I'm not a professional writer, not an "expert" on search engines, and I did absolutely NO research for this article.

So how did I write it and why was it so successful?

Here are some of the reasons...

1. The article topic is in high-demand. Not only is internet marketing a hot topic, but Pay-Per-Click search engines are still a mystery to most people. More importantly, online marketers stand to lose significant money if they don't have "insider" tips on maximizing their return on investment. Try and write to a) save people money, b) make people money, c) motivate people, or d) entertain people. These are all strong motivators and ezine publishers know it.

2. Base your content on personal experience. Here's a simple, yet highly effective formula for writing powerful, high-impact articles that publishers are looking for. Take action, try something and write about why it worked, or didn't work. There are thousands of articles submitted everyday, but only a select few are based on personal experience, and that's what the major publishers are looking for.

3. Start your article with a strong benefit statement and then give your readers steps to realize that benefit. You know what your readers want, tell them what you've learned, through personal experience, to help them get there.

4. Give your article a "Hypnotic" title. Using a play on words, the goal I had in mind writing the title was to reverse the conception that you can sink allot of money into PPC into making PPC pay YOU instead.

5. Make sure you get word out about your article. Generate your own highly targeted ezine publishers list from a service like this one...

You should also submit to some of the better known article directories. They do work, my latest article was picked up by an ezine with over 500,000 subscribers off of these directories.

6. Have a signature box that sings! I've seen so many people spend hours writing an article, and then 2-minutes writing their signature following the article. It should be the other way around. Your signature is what will get people back to your website, the main reason for you writing the article in the first place.

Finally, make sure you track progress of your articles. Key your resource box links using your own affiliate tracking program or ad tracking program to make sure you know what's working and what's not.

One of the most asked questions I get from people looking to get into the infoproduct business in a BIG way can I find a product to sell. Allot of people either don't have an idea on products to sell or have MANY ideas and their not quite sure which one to go with. It's kind of "the deer in the headlights" phenomenon - they just don't know where to start out.

Can you perhaps share with us some of the ways you use to create and evaluate your infoproduct ideas - feel free to use examples as you do.

Joe Vitale [Answer]

Well, first of all I believe, no I know, there are products everywhere. If someone wants to find a product to sell they are all over - but the REAL key is to find a product that you LOVE to sell.

That goes back to an earlier product I sold called ThoughtLine - I loved that product, it showed in my sales letters. Enthusiasm is one of the keys to selling anything.

So you want to find a product that you believe in that will make it easier to sell.

As for products - they are all over the place. Affiliate programs are a...I want to say a dime a dozen, that may not be the case, but several of my ebooks are through Clickbank, and they have an affiliate program - so if it's one of my eBooks that you are in love with you can join the affiliate program and sell it.

Most of my other eBooks are with AESOP marketing, Mark Joyner's company out of Las Angeles - Hypnotic Writing, Advanced Hypnotic Writing, Hypnotic Selling tools - all of those kind of books are through him and he has an affiliate program. So just within a few seconds, I've mentioned a few avenues you can use to find products to sell.

Then there is always the Out of Print market. I'm a giant book collector, I love finding gems from the last century or even earlier, that are still valid today.

I did, in fact, find an old metaphysical book - I think I may have the only copy in existence because nobody else seems to have it. It's called Attaining Your Desires.

I did a copyright search on it by paying the copyright office in Washington DC to see if anyone owned the copyright or did it go into the public domain. When I found out it had gone into the public domain, I arranged to bring it out as an eBook.

And so - I ended up with a product I didn't have to write, didn't have to pay anyone for and I believe - because of the sales letter I wrote, when I sent it to my email newsletter list I think I made $2,000 overnight from a book that I didn't write.

So there's all kind of things you can do to - and still go in the direction of writing your own material - which I want you to do. And I think EVERYBODY - everybody listening has some sort of skill, interest, hobby, experience, education that they can turn into an information product.

It may be so obvious to them that they may not even know what it is. But usually if I talk to someone for a few minutes and what they say is their passtime is raising horses, and if they feed the horse a particular grain it moves faster, well lights would be going off in my eyes and above my head and saying there's a money-making eBook there - or an information product that you can sell to other people who raise horses.

So that's just a wild example that just came spontaneously, but everyone listening needs to look in the mirror or talk to somebody else about what they do, probing for what do you know, what do you do, what's your education, what's your experience that you might turn into a How To product that somebody else could use, because NOT EVERYBODY KNOWS WHAT YOU KNOW.
