Steve Tanner Gets IT!

It's been almost a year now, but I always remember it like yesterday.

On the phone interviewing Yanik Silver -- Yup, that Yanik Silver. I asked him to tell me why his Instant Sales Letter compilation product had been so incredibly successful. He told me this...

Jeff [Question]

Steve, can you tell us a little about how you stumbled on such a HOT topic for your fantastic new product Instant JVLetters? Is this your first information product?

Steve Tanner [Answer]

Yeah, sure Jeff... well I was basically fed up with hearing the same old line being thrown at internet newbies: "The quickest and easiest way to earn money on the internet is to do a joint venture". You know... how many times do you hear that line in a day?

A lot of marketers will throw this line at you, but they will NEVER tell you how to actually create a successful joint venture.

This was the problem... so I decided to do something about it. Joint venture marketing is easy but only when you know the RULES!

It's like any other business... do you think you could walk into a bank and become a top class bank manager in a day? Do you think you could walk into a surgery and perform an operation? Of course you couldn't, you HAVE to learn the business... so what makes people think they can become a successful joint venture marketer overnight without learning the rules and techniques of JV's.

You have to know how to approach potential JV partners correctly and most importantly how to structure a professional mind-blowing joint venture proposal.

Without these 2 elements you do NOT stand a chance.

Instant JV Letters is my second product but my first marketing info product. My first product was a golf eBook which I created called "Swing To Success" which is doing very well and brings in a steady income every month.

But Instant JV Letters is my first shot at a marketing information product and seems to be getting a great response from some of the top marketers online.

Jeff [Question]

What is your background - what led you to the decision that developing your own product was the way to go?

Steve Tanner [Answer]

My background doesn't really have much to do with marketing, I basically started it as a hobby. My background is actually music, I'm a UK songwriter and run my own music publishing company. I got into marketing from a good friend of mine called Dec Cluskey who was the lead singer in a group called the 'Bachelors', the only group to of had 2 singles in the Top 5 at the same time.

Well he runs a very HOT songwriters club online and mentioned to me a guy called 'Corey Rudl'. I had no idea who this person was at the time, so I visited his site and the next thing I knew, I was hooked on internet marketing.

I guess I studied internet marketing for about a year or so, until I decided to launch my first product, the golf eBook.

This then lead onto other things and I got more and more interested in the marketing info products which has now become a second business for me.

I certainly believe that to be a successful marketer, you need to create your very own product. Although some marketers do very well as affiliates, you will definately increase your chances by developing and releasing a product of your own.

You will be judged more of an expert in your field and you will not believe the opportunities and various offers that come along.

Try to get out of all of these useless money making opportunity programs and concentrate on creating a brand new product with your OWN label... you WILL notice a difference that this will have on your success.

Jeff [Question]

How long has it taken you to create your latest product from idea through to launch? What were the 3 biggest challenges for you along the way?

Steve Tanner [Answer]

Not too long. It was about 8 weeks from initial idea through to launch. The JV Letters were developed over a period of time and are proven letters that I have personally used to get JV deals with my golf product and for Instant JV letters itself.

I guess I was quite lucky because I didn't run into too many problems or challenges. I used a successful 5 part formula from Jim Edwards before I decided to create Instant JV Letters so that I knew whether it would flop or be a success.

I would say my biggest challenge was TIME. Something that we ALL could do with more of. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. I set myself out a plan and stuck to it to make sure I completed all of the tasks I wanted to complete each day. This made a massive difference and got the work done.

The second challenge I had was to find a suitable affiliate program that could handle all of my requests. After creating my affiliate program I had to change over to another program because the current software and support was unreliable. This was something I could not risk when launching my new product. So I had to physically move all of my autoresponder messages, newsletters, affiliates over to a new software program and re-program all info which took a bit of time but was definately worth it.

That was about it really Jeff, everything else seemed to flow quite nicely. Like I say... I guess I was quite lucky.

Jeff [Question]

Steve, I would have to say that 80% of my online success is due to joint ventures - it is THAT powerful a marketing technique. Can you comment on how your product makes Joint Venture marketing possible - even for the inexperienced first-timer struggling to launch their first online venture?

Steve Tanner [Answer]

Instant JV Letters will help anyone wanting to create successful joint venture deals - even for newbies. The product consists of 10 proven JV letters that offer all different kind of deals, from the regular endorsement to time sensitive offers and even to trading autoresponder messages. There's something for everyone.

I have also included the "10 Golden JV Rules" that must never be broken. In speaking to the majority of marketers, they have said that around 8 out of 10 of these rules are consistently BROKEN from people sending in their offers but do not really know how the JV marketing business works.

Together with the 10 golden rules and the 10 JV letters templates, you have all of the information and knowledge needed to approach top marketers and to create successful and highly profitable joint venture deals.

It doesn't matter if you've been online for a year or whether you are completely inexperienced at online marketing... if you want to be successful with JV's this product is definately for you.

Thanks for taking the time to share your insights and adventures with our readers. I will give you the last word, add any comments you would like and ask that you help our readers understand the 3 most important pieces of advice from what you have learned launching your latest product JVLetters.

Steve Tanner [Answer]

The most important piece of advice I can give you is that if you do decide to create your own product, make sure it is a high quality product with useful information that people WANT to buy.

Do your research before you even start doing any work on your product and check everything out thoroughly to make sure there is a market for your product.

This is the number one mistake info product owners make when releasing their latest piece of art. They have spent so much time creating and developing their product, that they ignored the fact that there might not actually be a market for it.

When they come to release it, it flops BIG TIME because nobody wants to buy it, they're not interested in it. There is NO market for it. This would be a massive disappointment for anyone.

The best thing to do is to go over to Overture and type in certain keywords related to your product to see how many people have searched for that keyword last month.

If it says 5000, then great you have a market for it, but if it says something like 7, I would forget it and move on to something else.

Also if you see other marketers releasing similar products this is a good sign because you know there must be a market for it otherwise they wouldn't waste their time releasing it.

The second piece of advice is 'Patience'. You must be patient with yourself and others. Do not rush your product just to get it out on the market to earn a quick buck. People will recognize if the product has been rushed and will not want to do business with you and you will probably end up with quite a few refunds.

Be patient with other marketers, if you offer them a JV deal, give them at least a few days to answer before you chase them up. Don't forget they are extremely busy promoting their own products and could also have other joint venture deals on the go.

My last piece of advice to you is very important. Above all what I have said in this interview, remember to have FUN when your online running your business and ENJOY it.

Once the fun and enjoyment has gone, it's time to move on and find something else to do. If you're online to make a quick buck, then think again. It takes hard work and dedication and the majority of the top marketers are only successful and where they are today because they LOVE what they are doing and are extremely dedicated to making their business work.
